Global Partnership With Deutsche Messe Positions Selangor As Southeast Asia’s Next Big Tech Hub

In a joint effort with global exhibition brand Deutsche Messe, the Selangor state government will host Selangor Techsphere Summit 2025, a two-day, boutique summit inspired by Hannover Messe, the world’s leading trade show for industrial technology.

Set to take place on 11–12 November 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), the summit will serve as a strategic platform for regional decision-makers, global investors, and tech startup founders to gather and explore the future of industrial transformation.

International participation will be a major highlight, with speakers and companies from across the region and beyond showcasing their latest innovations.

Key themes include the rise of Industry X and smart manufacturing, along with the application of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), predictive maintenance, cloud platforms, and 5G infrastructure.

Tim Bostridge, General Manager of Hannover Fairs Asia Pacific, expressed confidence in the summit’s value, particularly for local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups, who will benefit from curated networking opportunities and knowledge exchange.

“The best way to get involved is to attend the conference, engage with organisations, and meet others in the industry,”  said Bostridge at the summit’s soft launch. “The main goal isn’t necessarily for SMEs to exhibit, but to learn and connect.”

Bostridge also highlighted the summit’s alignment with Malaysia’s broader ambition for high-value, digital-led growth, as outlined in the Digital Economy Blueprint.

Selangor is already drawing attention as a preferred industrial base, thanks to its strong infrastructure and forward-thinking strategies, including efforts to cultivate tech unicorns and drive growth in sectors such as semiconductors, electrical and electronics (E&E), and information technology (IT).

“Selangor is not just welcoming the future of industry—it’s building it,” Bostridge added. “By combining AI, next-gen manufacturing, and sustainable energy, Selangor is setting a new benchmark for Southeast Asia.”

With investments already flowing into Selangor’s tech and manufacturing sectors, the summit reinforces the state’s vision to become a regional tech powerhouse. Organisers describe the summit as a catalyst for industrial innovation, long-term collaboration, and investment.

“This marks a proud milestone for Selangor,” said a state government representative. “Techsphere is part of our journey to becoming a Smart, Liveable, and Prosperous State by 2025. It supports the goals of RS-1 and reflects our deep commitment to industrial modernisation and tech-driven development.”

To kickstart momentum, a soft launch was held on June 13, 2025, at Hotel Tenera, Bandar Baru Bangi, offering stakeholders and the media a preview of the summit’s goals and impact.
