The participants at the Purplicious Women’s Day Fit Dance Event fueled by U.S Potatoes

 

Potatoes USA celebrated International Women’s Day by fueling up 100 women participants from the general public with the U.S.
potatoes – in the Purplicious Women’s Day Fit Dance held at Georgetown, Penang recently.

To mark this year’s International Women’s Day, Potatoes USA engaged popular Chef Imran from Singapore to create four simple, delicious U.S. potato recipes that active ladies can prepare and enjoy after their workouts.

If you want to power up your workout or athletic performance, look no further than the U.S. potato. Did you know that potatoes provide energy, potassium and Vitamin C you need to perform at your best?

Potatoes are more energy-packed than any other popular vegetable and have even more potassium than a banana.

There is a U.S. potato performance recipe option to fuel your body and brain throughout the day. Highly suitable for those who have an active lifestyle or are competing with elite athletes.

Chef Imran shared four new scrumptious and healthy recipes using U.S. potatoes on-site.

They were:
1. U.S. Potatoes Beetroot Gnocchi with Cheese Sauce.
2. Loaded Chili Con Carne with U.S. Potatoes Bites.
3. Pulled BBQ Chicken with U.S. Tater Totes.
4. Smashed U.S. Potatoes with Steak Salsa Verde.

A few participants were invited to assist the chef in preparing the dishes to be distributed to the rest of the participants so they could experience firsthand how easy it was to make these dishes at home.

Goody bags containing U.S. Russet potatoes and potato recipes were distributed to all the participants at the end of the event.

U.S. potatoes, whether fresh or frozen, are a very versatile ingredient that could inspire a wide repertoire of Asian and Western dishes—ranging from appetisers, soups, and main dishes to desserts.
