Transport Logistic Southeast Asia 2023 Malaysia Forum and Roadshow
tlacSEA 2023: Shaping Malaysia’s Logistics Future
MMI Asia Pte Ltd, the regional subsidiary of Messe Muenchen based in Singapore, successfully organised its inaugural Transport Logistic South East Asia (tlcSEA) 2023 Malaysia Forum and Roadshow recently.
The event was held at the Nexus Convention Centre in Bangsar South and had the primary objective of initiating discussions about the potential of Southeast Asia as the upcoming worldwide hub and emphasising the ongoing importance of Malaysia as a pivotal logistics centre.
With more than 70 participants, spanning diverse industry sectors and government representatives, the event provides opportunities for participants to engage with insights presented by several thought leaders in the field.
“Malaysia holds a significant position within the transport, logistics, and air cargo sector due to its strategic orientation and capacity to embrace technological advancements,” says Mr Michael Wilton, the Managing Director and CEO of MMI Asia Pte Ltd in his welcoming speech.
Mr Alvin Chua, President of the Federation of Malaysia Freight Forwarders, presented the opening statement, acknowledging Malaysia as the ideal location and elaborating on how the nation possesses numerous blueprints and initiatives that contribute to its prosperity.
Presenting the keynote speech was Mr Naim A Rahman, the Director responsible for China and Northeast Asia, ASEAN, and Oceania at MATRADE. He presented an insightful overview titled The Increasing Relevance of Southeast Asia in the Global Market.
This talk not only emphasises the region’s significance but also offered compelling evidence that tlacSEA 2023 is successfully advancing in its preparations for the inaugural event, set to take place from November 1st to 3rd, 2023.
The Panel Discussion featured prominent figures leading the conversation, including:
– Mr Raymond Siva, Head of Digital Investments at MDEC.
– Mr Siva Gunesparan, General Manager of GÜÜD Singapore.
– Mr Syahrul Azmir Zaki, serving as the Country Manager of Aramex.
The Moderator for the forum was Datin Lorela Chia, the President of the Malaysia Association of Sustainable Supply Chain and Innovation (MASSCI).
The focal point of their discussion revolved around the theme of Exploring Malaysia’s Strategic Location and Robust Infrastructure as a Central Logistics Hub in Southeast Asia.
During the dialogue, cutting-edge technologies, collaborative initiatives, and personal experiences were the main topics of focus.

Extending the dialogue initiated in Malaysia, a dedicated forum centred around Malaysia’s interests is scheduled to take place at the transport logistic Southeast Asia and air cargo Southeast Asia 2023 events.
