SAMENTA Celebrates a Roaring Chinese New Year Dinner

A Celebration Of Partnership

SAMENTA organised their first Chinese New Year dinner, post-pandemic on 10 February 2022. The event was intended for SAMENTA’s members and fellow trade associations to get together for a networking session.

It was a double celebration to celebrate the Chinese New Year as well as a toast to Malaysia’s rebuilding of its economy.

More than 100 people attended the dinner with invited guests such as:
– Dato Abdul Latif Abu Seman, Director General of MPC.
– Abu Bakar Yusof, Deputy CEO of MATRADE.
– Trade commissioners from Brazil, Spain, Austria, and Turkey.
– Senior Officers from MIDA, SIDEC, STDC, TEEAM and more.
– As well as SME business owners and entrepreneurs.

“For 2022, SAMENTA will be working on supply chain development with industry partners to actualise real business opportunities for our members and SMEs,” mentioned by Datin Lorela Chin, Deputy Chairman of SAMENTA in her LinkedIn post.

Signing Of MOU With UOB Bank

A collaboration between SAMENTA and UOB Bank

SAMENTA embarked on new business collaboration with UOB Bank.

To officiate this business relationship, the signing of MOU between Datin Lorela and Raymond Chui, Executive Director of UOB was done during this auspicious event.

UOB is introducing a supply chain financing programme to help fellow SMEs.

Serenade Performance

Daniel Lee, the winner of the Malaysian Idol second season gave a memorable performance on that night.

He sang a few of his ballads together with a traditional Chinese New Year song while dinner is served.

A Memorable Networking Session

Datuk William with invited guests during the ‘lou sang’ session. Of course, it’s a networking session whereby everyone had a great time catching up with friends and also making new ones.

Traditional Yee Sang was served at the beginning of the event, followed by a 7-course meal.
