Rocking Your Way to be a Powerful Social Media Influencer

Recovery Times Post-Pandemic

Malaysia’s economy is in the recovery process.

While many parts of the world are still facing the COVID-19 pandemic, Malaysia is on the road to recovery. Thanks to the guidance of Dato’ Seri Dr Noor Hisham bin Abdullah, Malaysians can start work and kick-starting the economy under the new norm by 11 June 2020.

Before MCO was lifted, we need to compile to a strict SOP which was:

  • Everyone must stay home and indoors.
  • Working from home.
  • Keeping social distancing while doing our groceries and buying daily
  • No travelling, visitations nor outdoor activities.
  • Large crowd gathering is strictly not allowed.
  • Those companies that provide essential services are allowed to open and operate.

During this period of the MCO, many people lost their jobs as businesses struggling to survive. Recession sets in as the economy is not moving. The world was affected badly by this virus.

Like many people, one man faced this challenge as well. While experiencing the extra hours and being active on social media, he had an idea and decided to help others. Especially for those who lost their jobs or businesses, this would be an opportunity for them to earn a side income.

Rocking Your Way to be a Powerful Social Media Influencer

Online influencer marketing platform and marketplace.

In comes, Rockstars.Media founded in March 2020 by Homam Alghorani. During the MCO, Mr Homam himself was experiencing the pressure of staying home and spent countless hours on the internet.

As people are complaining about boredom during MCO, Homam found an idea which will turn them into influencers on social media. This is where he started planning for his influencer marketing platform, but with a twist!

Homam was dedicated to turning this into a reality, spending many sleepless nights to decode and build this platform ever since he was forced to return to Malaysia in early March 2020. This platform allowed everyone to be a paid influencer by promoting products and services, with a minimum of 1,000 followers in their social media.

The Influencer’s Marketplace

The influencers industry is huge and growing.

Influencer marketing is on the rise and they are categorised as:

  • Nano influencers, with 1,000 followers.
  • Micro-influencers, with 10,000 followers.
  • Macro influencer, with 100,000 followers.

Influencers marketing are on the rise, there are these new groups called Nano and Micro-influencers. These 2 groups of influencers have smaller followers but are niche and highly engaging. Brands and businesses can engage with their target audiences and easier using these influencers.

It is not surprising that brands who engage with a mixture of Nano to Macro-influencers have higher conversion rates. This is good news for those individuals who have social media account with that range of followers may earn a profitable side-income.

One of the reasons why the public follows these Nano to Macro-influencers is because they share educational content which is relatable. These influencers build relationships with their audiences through their content to create trust.

It is a win-win situation for both sides. For brands, they do not need to invest in a huge investment while hiring these Nano and Micro-influences. These influencers can share educational content which is beneficial to the public as they are seen not selling or promoting.

Rockstars.Media

Brands and influencers can collaborate to have a win-win situation.

This new platform allowed both brands and influencers to build their profiles. Here, influencers have a chance to market themselves by creating promotional offers and videos of their services. For example, influencers may charge RM 50 for a reviewing product/service video, or post something about a product/service for RM 10.

These new groups of influencers marketing are getting popular because:

  • Cost-effective.
  • Able to reach out to communities, specific and targeted audiences.
  • Having more initiatives.
  • Lesser endorsements from competitive brands.
  • Sharing valuable, educational and beneficial content.
  • Not hard-selling or promotional.

Influencers are welcome to sign-up for free. Though Rockstars.Media platform is still in its infancy stage, it has attracted the influencers’ attention throughout Malaysia as well as Singapore, India, Slovenia, USA and more.

Homam plans to build a profile of difference influencers of all sizes and from diverse industry. This is to attract brands and potential investors to have another channel to market their product or services to the right target audiences.
