As Malaysians continue to battle through the COVID-19 pandemic and economy downturn, Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa is lending a helping hand in time of need to help ease the worries of selected groups in the Klang Valley.

The Hotel recently donated its’ used pillows which are still in good condition to selected beneficiaries such as:

  • Sungai Buloh Hospital, one of the designated facilities for treating COVID-19 patients.
  • A Taska based in Shah Alam that takes care of children whose parent(s) are working as front liners during this pandemic
  • Selected B40 families.

A total of 962 used pillows were collected and distributed with the assistance of ADAB Youth Garage (AYG), a non-profit organisation based in Bangi.

A Positive Attitude Towards Raya Celebration Amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic

Chefs from Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa, Sunway Putra Hotel and Sunway Velocity Hotel join forces to cook 1000 packets weekly of Bubur Lambuk for distribution to hospitals and B40 families

Chefs from Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa, Sunway Putra Hotel and Sunway Velocity Hotel are lending a helping hand in time of need by cooking and preparing over 4,500 packs of Bubur Lambuk which was distributed to healthcare workers at:

  • Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
  • Hospital Sungai Buloh.
  • Hospital Serdang.
  • Hospital Kajang

As well as essential workers and selected B40 communities in Selangor every week, in the spirit of Ramadan. To add more cheer during the season, 200 packs of Raya cookies were also distributed to selected orphanages in the Klang Valley.

This initiative is part of Sunway Group’s month-long Raya Cheer campaign together with AYG.

Soaps Up for Donations

These initiatives are in addition to the donation of more than 3,000 bars of Soapful repurposed soap to selected beneficiaries such as:

  • juveniles at Pusat Koreksional Puncak Alam (PKPA) for three months starting from 1 April until 30 June 2020.
  • Human Aid Selangor Society.
  • Kajang Women’s Prison.
  • Kechara Soup Kitchen.
  • District Parole Offices and Parolees

Including the donation of 14,525 hotel amenities donated to Sungai Buloh Hospital to help with the shortage of amenities. This is due to an additional of 600 wards being set up for treatment.

These initiatives are part of the #SunwayForGood movement, which is Sunway’s commitment towards a sustainable environment, economy and society.
