Minni’s yellow pea snacks are baked instead of fried to ensure the food is a healthier alternative for consumers on the go who want something to snack on. Additionally, Minni snacks are vegan-friendly and gluten-free.

Currently, there are 3 tantalising flavours to snack from:

  • Korean Spicy.
  • Tangy Spicy.
  • Tomato BBQ.

According to the brand, non-spicy flavours will be introduced in the coming months. Minni is a new brand under GT Spice Manufacturer that varies from its sister brand, “Kacang Macha”.

Calvin Koh, founder of GT Spice Manufacturers Sdn. Bhd. shares the difference: “Minni offers leisure baked food while Kacang Macha offers the extruded fried yellow pea (or murukku) range.

Our other brand, 1001 Rempah offers a wide variety of spices mainly for cooking and flavouring.”

GT Spice Manufacturers Kacang Putih History

GT Spice Manufacturers Sdn Bhd. was founded in 2014 as an ode to Calvin’s father and their time spent together. The close father-son relationship had a unique tradition: Buying kacang putih whenever the family headed back to Seremban during the weekends.

“The kacang putih was sold by an uncle who goes around selling his snacks at the iconic Seremban Lake gardens,” shares Calvin.

His father and the kacang putih uncle had built a bond over the years and whenever Calvin’s father wound down the car window, the uncle would ask, “Kacang, macha?”

Before the uncle retired, he had given Calvin’s father a murukku recipe which Calvin stumbled upon after his father’s passing in 2009.

At that point, Clavin made a decision.

With a family business dabbling in spice powder trading and a career as a banker, Calvin decided to take a chance and went full-time into manufacturing spices and murruku upon finding the kacang putih uncle’s murukku recipe.

The business took off and now, there are two companies under their umbrella: GT Spice Manufacturers Sdn Bhd (manufacturing) and GT Snack and Spice Distributors Sdn Bhd (distribution and marketing).

The Minni, Kacang Macha and 1001Rempah can be purchased online at GT Spice Manufacturer’s official website
